About Us

Base 3 Systems is a professional services company, and a SAS® Alliance Silver Consulting Partner, utilising SAS software to deliver consultancy services to many of the UK’s leading firms. Founded in 1996, we have built a wealth of experience over the past 20+ years which we leverage to rise to any challenge presented to us and to deliver solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations. With an excellent reputation across our past and present clients we continue to push ourselves to deliver even more value, and our commitment to overcome difficult and challenging requirements and deliver exceptional outcomes is what drives us. Our management team and training instructors have significant practical experience working in Consultancy which they are able to share with colleagues throughout their employment via the unrivalled quality and applicability of our in-house training, and the ability to translate that learning to its use in a professional environment.

About You

We are currently looking for candidates to join our graduate scheme, the Advance Programme. You should have a 2:1 minimum classification in a Bachelor’s degree demonstrating abilities in logic, analysis and data interpretation such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or a primary science subject, and A levels (or equivalent) in complementary subjects. Further qualifications, such as a Master’s degree, are highly desirable but not essential. You will need to be analytical, inquisitive, enthusiastic and possess good verbal and written communication skills. You will have a strong desire to work in a data-focussed role and to extend your knowledge in both the technical and non-technical aspects of that role. We require commitment on your part to put in the effort required during the 9 week training period, and self motivation to continue to expand your business knowledge and understanding once deployed, and that dedication will be rewarded with a significant competitive advantage over the rest of the graduate entry-level market.

About the Role

The Advance Programme was launched in 1999 with the aim of supplying high-quality junior consultants to our clients. It presents an excellent opportunity for you to develop the technical programming skills required, alongside the practical experience to utilise and perfect those skills in a professional environment, which will act as an excellent stepping stone on your career path. Hundreds of consultants have been through the Advance Programme and gone on to achieve their career goals in roles such as Data & Analytics Manager, Modelling & Forecasting Analyst, Data Architect, Fraud Analyst, Technical Consultant, Credit Risk Analyst, Data Scientist, Financial Crime Analytics Consultant, and Data Engineer.

Day to day activities during deployment can vary depending on the client and team you are deployed into, and the specific role you are performing, but will typically involve all aspects of the systems development lifecycle and require the following skills, some of which you will already possess and some you will develop during your time with Base 3:

  • Problem solving
  • Creativity
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships
  • Independent and self driven learning, research and information gathering
  • Stakeholder management
  • Time management – planning, effort estimation, prioritisation and progress monitoring
  • Interpretation of data
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Flexibility
  • Risk awareness

In order to ensure that we place you into the consultancy role with the best fit for you, we do not allow you to choose your client or the location in which you will be based. Full geographical mobility is essential in matching the right person to the right client role, and therefore maximising the potential for rapid progression.
